SAUNA Benefits

  • Pushes toxins out of the body
  • Improved sleep and a deep sense of warmth in your bones

SAUNA Notes

  • Jan 2025 – Ice water buckets are available to douse with!
  • Regular sauna use with between four and seven 15 minutes sessions per week has the most health benefits!
  • Due to the fluctuating nature of a wood fired sauna, temperatures can vary greatly especially in winter. The sauna averages 130F, but can get as high as 150F.
  • Bill says: “In the 130-140F range, it provides a great sweat and after 3 sessions with cold water dousing or ice baths in between and I’m done for the day”
  • The sauna seats 6-7 people comfortably

Guidelines and Notes (please read)

  • Once here, please register inside at the counter (a sign in form and waiver. You can save time and fill out the waiver before hand here) Sauna is on a first come, first serve basis
  • Safe practices say to take 15 min rounds, then take at least a 15 minute break to cool down before going back in. Most importantly listen to your body and how it feels.
  • STAYING HYDRATED IS A MUST
  • We limit sauna use to those 18 and older
  • Bring your own towels (2 hand towels, one to sit on, one to wipe sweat), and a large one to dry off with after dousing/wrap in to keep warm between sessions
  • You must sit on a towel at all times while in the Sauna
  • If you feel faint, light headed, experience heart palpitations, nausea, vertigo, or any other unusual symptoms, please notify those around you and remove yourself from the sauna at once.

Systema Martial Arts Training

Every Saturday BEFORE SAUNA, from 11am-1pm Bill Parravano teaches a Russian Martial Art called Systema, and from 1-2pm the Systema students workout on a Pravilo, a Russian Stretching & Strengthening machine that build tendon, ligament and fascial strength in the body through traction. The machine decompresses the spine and joints and helps reverse the effects of gravity. He aptly describes Systema as a “Healing Art Disguised as a Martial Art.” Systema practices are open to all levels of practitioners, and beginners are welcome and encouraged. Attending Systema is not required to attend the Sauna.
